It said that the windstorm may cause an untoward situation in these areas, asking the concerned authorities and public to take precautionary measures during the period. "Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A strong rain bearing system is likely to approach Balochistan on Thursday (night) and likely to grip southern parts of the country on Friday and may persist in upper parts till Monday (morning)," the Met said.
In the next 24 hours: Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country with an isolated rain-thunderstorm and snowfall over hills in Quetta, Zhob and Kohat Divisions during evening/night.

Maximum rainfall was recorded in Kohat as 18 mm, Drosh 11 mm, Mirkhani and Mianwali 8 mm, each, Upper Dir Upper 5 mm, Malamjabba, Saidu Sharif, Bannu and Islamabad Zero Point 4 mm, each and Chitral 3 mm. Lowest temperature was in Kalam and Astore minus 10 degrees Celsius, each, Skardu minus 8, Bagrote minus 7, Kalat minus 6, Gupis and Malamjabba minus 5, each, Hunza, Parachinar and Murree minus 4, each, Rawalakot minus 3, Quetta, Mirkhani, Drosh and Kakul minus 2, each, and Cherat minus 1.
